Cultivating A Healthy And Empowered Sense Of Self

Of all the judgements in life, none is as important as the one we pass on ourselves. Self-esteem has an impact on our life and work and is a fundamental platform from which we operate in the world.  Self-esteem fully realised is the experience that we are appropriate to life and the requirements of life, and we have every right to exist. We are not often taught to identify what healthy self-esteem is or to recognise the signals of low self-esteem and psuedo self-esteem. This one-day workshop takes a look at what self-esteem is and how it can be actively and positively cultivated to embrace life more fully and create a healthy sense of self.

What will I learn?

You will learn how to:

  • Identify what healthy self-esteem is and is not
  • Appreciate the extent to which self-esteem impacts on life
  • Undertake practices to cultivate a healthy sense of self

Course content

  • Defining self-esteem
  • The dangers of over-simplification and the dangers of assuming nothing can change
  • Indications of healthy self-esteem
  • Indications of low self-esteem and pseudo self-esteem
  • The importance of developing a healthy sense of self
  • The link between self-esteem and our health and well-being
  • How a healthy and grounded sense of self is a fundamental prerequisite to developing a deeper and more meaningful life
  • Cultivating self-esteem
  • Knowing what you stand for - practices for grounding yourself and connecting to what matters to you
  • Self-acceptance - getting in touch with your lived experience of emotions, whether or not these are logically acceptable to you and others
  • Assuming healthy responsibility
  • Personal integrity and appropriate self-assertion - learning to appropriately state what you want without being too aggressive or too timid
  • Practices to embody a higher level of self-esteem

How does it work?

During the workshop we take a look at what healthy self-esteem is and is not in order to increase cognitive understanding. From there, we work on practices that are designed to increase self-esteem in order to generate a more embodied and lived experience.
This workshop is running at the Park Royal Hotel in Stretton, Warrington.
Drinks are provided throughout the day and are included in the price.
Times are 9:30am - 5pm
Workshop places are limited to twelve in order to allow for practice and focused attention.
